Our Chairman's Christmas Message
It’s hard to believe that Christmas is almost here already – where did this year go, and who could have imagined the challenges 2020 would bring!
Each year that passes seems to have its own character – there are always challenges, and maybe a low point here and there, but I can truly say that these past twelve months have been as full a year as I can remember.
It is worth just listing a few of the key points that 2020 will be remembered for:
- Covid 19
- Lockdown
- International Travel suspended
- Flooding across New Zealand
- Wild Fires in Australia and America
- Labour Landslide in the New Zealand Election
- Donald Trump losing the USA election (or did he?)
- The All Black losing their aura of invincibility
- The housing market in Tauranga going crazy.
- Raw material stock runouts
So in this busy time of year, I encourage you to take a few minutes to count your blessings. We all have so much to be thankful for, our community, businesses, family and friends, to name a few. Christmas is a time for reflection and rejuvenation of hope for the future. May we always be mindful of the spirit of caring, sharing, love and generosity of the Christmas season, and do our best at all times as we seek to develop as an organisation, improve the prosperity of our businesses and grow as individuals, contributing in whatever capacity for the benefit of the Bay of Plenty community.
I am particularly aware that the success of Team Local rests upon the support of our members and the hard work of the board and David Hodgson, so let me take this opportunity to thank you for your wonderful support and engagement in Team Local.
I challenge all providers to become more engaged in Team Local next year. There is a direct correlation to the effectiveness of Team Local and the value it generates to your business, and how involved you are in the activities and networking opportunities provided by Team Local
On behalf of the Team Local Board let me end by once again thanking you for your support and continued backing of Team Local. We wish you a safe and very happy Christmas and a New Year filled with productivity and prosperity.
